It was raining outside, and I was craving a warm, delicious, and healthy recipe. But I didn’t want to spend hours cooking or using too many cooking utensils. So I tried something different.

I took out my Triply Smart kadhai, added a few simple ingredients that I already had at home, and just like that, I made super tasty oil free one pot meals recipes.

How One Pot Meals Recipes Made My Life Easier:

To be honest, I didn’t even know what exactly one pot meals were. I thought it was just a fancy word. But it simply means cooking using only one pot or pan, just like we cook khichdi or pulao.

What I really love about one pot meals is how easy they are; anyone can make them. As a working woman or housewife, it’s so frustrating to spend hours cooking and then washing all the utensils. But with one pot meals recipes, it becomes easier.

You can even make this healthy recipe for your kids; they’ll love it. These meals are so simple, and also it is oil free, but somehow they still feel like comforting and home-cooked food. I don’t need to stand in the kitchen for hours or scrub oily pans. I don’t even need to add oil , just toss the ingredients, stir them, wait a little, and it’s done.

Here are a few simple Indian Recipes:

 

1.Curd Rice:

This one pot meals recipe is one of my favorite recipes. It’s quick, easy to make, and it’s oil-free.

Ingredients:

Cooked rice, curd, milk, ghee, curry patta, jeera, red chillies, salt, and coriander.

How I make it:

Take cooked rice, add curd and some milk, and add salt according to your taste.

Then make a tadka, add some ghee, then jeera, curry patta, and red chillies.

Add the tadka to your rice, give it a good mix, and garnish it with coriander, and it’s done!

 

2. Moong Dal Chilla Khichdi

It’s not a regular khichdi that you eat a lot of time. This is a perfect one pot meals that everyone is going to love. This  oil free, simple Indian recipes is best for your lunchbox.

Ingredients:
Yellow moong dal, grated lauki, rice (optional), ginger, hing, haldi, green chili, coriander, salt.

How I make it:
  Soak the moong dal first, and then blend the moong dal with a little water. Then I add the grated lauki, spices, and a bit of rice flour if I want it more filling. Let it cook down like khichdi after that, and it will turn out soft, tasty, and healthy.

It’s an oil free healthy recipe, so you don’t need to worry. Whether it’s a light lunch or a comforting dinner, this dish will never disappoint you.

 

3. Oil-free Jowar Veg Khichdi Recipe :

Ingredients:
1/2 cup jowar (whole or broken soak for 6-8 hrs or overnight),1/4 cup moong dal,1/4 cup chopped carrots,1/4 cup peas,1/4 cup lauki (optional but makes it soft),1/2 tsp cumin,1/4 tsp turmeric, salt,3 cups water, Ginger & green chili paste (optional), Coriander for garnish.

How I make it:
Soak the jowar for 6–8 hours or overnight. The,n in a pressure cooker, add the soaked jowar, moong dal, all the chopped veggies, turmeric, cumin, salt, and water. Pressure cook it for 3–4 whistles. Once the pressure releases, open the lid and give everything a good mix. The texture should be soft. If you want, you can also add a little ginger-green chilli paste for extra flavour (totally optional). Garnish with fresh coriander and that’s it! Your healthy,oil free One Pot Meals are ready.
